fyber is a Dutch company which is developing concepts for interactive networked media.

The company has developed a patent-pending technology called SID, that allows for efficient distribution of audio (and video) content over interactive networks, such as the Internet or wireless networks such as GPRS/UMTS/Bluetooth. Combinations with digital broadcast networks (DAB/DVB) are also possible. SID technology is efficient, because it uses a system of client-side caching, rather than relying on expensive streaming systems.

The uniqueness to the technology, however, is its capacity to effectively prevend illegal copying of copyrighted materials. SID works with most codecs (even MP3), although some source code-level adaptation is required.
