The Challenge

Scanner Radio had partnered with Fyber to monetize banners but were hesitant to incorporate interstitial videos as a way to increase revenue. They were concerned that a full screen format would interfere with their app’s audio stream and negatively impact user experience.

The Solution

After learning about Fyber Marketplace’s skippable feature that enables an app publisher to control the duration of video play before the ad becomes skippable, Scanner Radio decided to test interstitial video and limit video play to five seconds.

The Results

Through interstitial video, Scanner Radio immediately had a whole new demand stream open up to them and saw a 55.5% increase in revenue generated from Fyber. Fyber’s competitive eCPMs combined with significantly higher fill rates gave Fyber a top 4 placement within the app’s interstitial waterfall.

I noticed a significant increase in revenue once I added interstitial videos and am extremely happy with the performance. But aside from driving high eCPMs, Fyber Marketplace has all the qualities I was looking for in an app monetization solution: the ability to bring quality demand, an easy SDK integration, and strong performance across a range of ad formats.
